I was born and raised in Western North Carolina and met my husband when I was just 16. We married in 2009 at a beautiful little country church in Granite Falls, NC. I received both my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Animal Science from NC State. Boots 'n' Buckles Photography was inspired by my daughter, Macy, when she was born in early 2011. I began to discover all the amazing things I could do with light. I would use nap-time to learn and grow, challenging myself to train my eye. I carried my camera everywhere we went, and finally making the switch to photograph in manual. I learned to manipulate the light I was working in to preserve the raw emotion, colors, and moments I was capturing. What was once just a hobby has turned into a full blown passion. I love spending time with my clients and their beautiful families; it makes me happy to see them happy. I
